Mike/Steve/I went to Astoria yesterday...
It was a ghost town there, and our expectations were low, but at the end of the day, each of us had a Chinook in possession.
Mike had 2 others that weren't quite keepers, but fun to catch anyhow. I caught one other non-keeper.
Mine was 37inches and 24lbs.
All in a all, quite a successful salmon outing. I was pumped I got to break in my Salmon rod and reel.
We caught them trolling spinners/herring... Using a Diver -> Flasher -> 3ftish -> Lure setup.
My fish got turned into 4 salmon steaks... and 4 family sized slabs of salmon. Brooklynne saw the gutted fish, and asked if the fish would get water in it... Oh brother...
